Carmen here….
Sleep was restless for the kids and I last night – too excited
to sleep. On the contrary, Jarrod slept great. We arrived at port too early and
the porters were not yet working. Ugh! We were so excited to get on the ship
and get sailing, but had to drive around Cape Canaveral until 9:30a. Once at
the terminal, we had to wait for a bit to board but time easily passed and we
had a chance to meet Captain Mickey.
We had a great buffet lunch and soon after we were able to
check out our stateroom. We have a room
with a veranda which will be great to relax on during all the sea days. We then hit the DVC member gathering. Stitch was the special guest and he was fun
and entertaining. After the mandatory
safety drill, we headed up to the sail away party, which was great as always on
the Disney ships. After casting off, seas were nice and calm with perfectly
warm, sunny weather. We know it will be cold soon…better enjoy the sun while it
lasts. We saw many dolphins while casting off.
While Jarrod and I chilled on the veranda, Haley tried out
the teen club. She was a bit nervous, but did fine. Cameron has been exploring
the ship and clubs. He is super stoked to have free reign of the ship for the
first time. He has his phone, key and watch (adjusted to match ship time
exactly..LOL) – he’s over prepared as always.
Kids arrived back in to time to head out to dinner, and we caught a
glimpse of the beautiful sunset from our veranda.
We are all exhausted after all the planning and traveling to
get here. I’m sure we’ll all sleep like babies tonight while rocking on the
waves of the Eastern Seaboard!
Internet is painfully slow and photos will not load. Hopefully we can try again later... Goodnight :-)
The adventure is off!!!!!! Have a lot of fun for me!!!!!
