Rough Seas 5/21

Early this morning, the Captain updated on weather and conditions. He called the seas “moderate” with 8 ft swells. Well, the conditions progressively worsened as the day went on with North winds as high as 48 kts and sea swells that must have been 15 ft or more completely engulfing the portholes on lower decks. Out on deck, the sea was beautiful, but tumultuous. It’s really amazing that the ship motion wasn’t worse (thank goodness for stabilizers).

We saw Stacia Martin present on Disneyland history this morning (amazing presentation). Cam and I visited with her for a good while prior to the show. They talked art and drawing techniques. I’m really happy that Cam is getting to spend time with her. He’s going to draw her a ship. Haley wants to give her some character drawings (she needs to get to work). Cam and I went to a knot tying workshop, and he loved it. Prior to dinner, we saw Star Wars, The Force Awakens in 3-D…actually, Carmie said it was actually in 4-D due to the excessive ship motion. It was really a dramatic effect watching the fighter scenes with the theatre tossing and turning as the ship rocked, pitched and rolled. I was feeling a little queasy at dinner time and settled for soup and salad (following a couple shots of Dramamine…LOL). Once, the med kicked in, I was fine. Now we’re in our beds with rocking and creaking (we have a noisy room). Conditions are supposed to be calmer in the morning…and then, worse tomorrow afternoon... YIKES
